I've been thinking about this blog for a few days and I can't really think of anything to say. It's not that I don't have anything going on because I certainly do. It's not that I don't have anything to say because I could probably ramble on and on about nothing really exciting.

Perhaps I will be inspired tomorrow

Funny Talk

Tonight I was able to have a chat with Kyler and Susie. I logged us into Google talk and I have to tell you that it was a bit difficult to figure it out. We were all in different tabs and talking to only one person. It was quite silly until we figured it out. I imagine that people do that all the time but it was a discombulated and unsettling tonight. It did make me laugh though. I will be fun when more people can join
As this was going on I also watching some really funny shows on TV. If you aren't watching How I Met Your Mother you are really missing out. Barney played by Neil Patrick Harris is Legend-wait for it-Dary. He's just so wrong but I want to remember his Barneyisms each week and I can't. I'm laughing so hard that I forget it.

Comfy Couch

Tonight I went into Ashley Furniture on Shelburne Road and was intent on looking for a new dresser. The dresser that I have is annoying. My sock drawer falls apart when I open it. If you know me, you know that I love socks and I have a lot of them. So every morning when I open my sock drawer and they all fall on the floor you could understand that it is totally unacceptable. So anyway I was looking for a dresser. (BTW-the reason I say dresser is because I can never say Bureau correctly)I found some that were totally lovely for a fairly reasonable price. But then I started trying out the couches. There were so many but then I sat on this most comfortable couch I have ever sat on. It was divine. I thought about it for may two minutes. I had to have it. So I bought it. It will be here in 2-3 weeks. I have to figure out what to do with my futon because I don't really want to get rid of it. I really couldn't believe that I did that. I mean it was my goal for the year to get a real couch. You know try to be a grown up and all. But once I decided to go to India, I guess that I figured oh well next year. But I decided that I deserve to have a comfy couch to sit on when I get home from a long day.
Now I just need to figure out what to do about my socks. Any ideas?

Happiness is...

A clean room. I just spent the evening cleaning my space and it feels really good. Life has been really busy lately and I've been a little overwhelmed with all that is going on. Work has been exceptionally busy so when I get home the last thing I want to do is pick up anything. All that I wanted to do is sleep or watch TV. I tended to make a bit of a mess. Now I must say that I wasn't sitting in filth or anything. I did my dishes regularly, I just had a lot of clothes, shoes and stuff around. I've been trying to organize my pictures into something that makes sense. To put them in an album instead of a lovely and carefully selected paper bag. It isn't that big of a project but recently I have lacked the motivation to get it done. There have been piles that just keep moving around my apartment. So today was a particularly difficult day that even had me reduced to tears at one point so I knew that I had to get a few things in order. I knew that I needed to clean my room. It is such a satisfying feeling putting things away and organizing things. Everything feels better when the floor is clean and all your clothes are folded and put away. I even put my favorite flannel sheets and fleece blanket on my bed. I think I'm gonna sleep really well tonight.
Another thing that made this evening extra special for me was that I was able to listen to my collection of Christmas music. Now I know what you are saying...WHAT! It's too early to listen to Christmas music! I agree...to a point. It is such great music and it's a shame to listen to it for only one month. I mean New York Christmas by Rob Thomas is one of my favorite songs of all time. And the way the Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan sing God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen is just divine. Plus there is the little matter of my annual Christmas CD. I have to start production of that now so that it will complete in time for people to enjoy it. It's a lot of work trust me. And don't worry I don't make anyone listen to Christmas music until its time. I get that it's a little strange.
